Just finished issue 5.3 of the Sacramento based zine Full Watts. I haven’t read it before, but wish I had. This kind of old school home made paper fanzine is always enjoyable. It’s not as slick as Riddim Magazine or anything, but they make it up by being geekier (which is a good thing). The 52 pages contain among other things an interview with singer Carlton Livingston – “Rumours”, “100 Lbs of Collie Weed” – and Lloyd “Spiderman” Campbell, the producer behind the Joe Frazier label. My favorite piece is the history of track suits in reggae, and the awesome reprints of a couple of record ads from the late seventies.
